Untitled

Are-you-lonely

I watched your face through the window

You sat motionless in the dimming light

I raised a hand and waved until

the bus was engulfed by night.

I sat beneath the heavy blanket,

weighed down by longing and pain,

my only comfort being the knowledge

that I would see you again.

Return you did, and I became numb

You were silent, placid

I watched your face through the window

You lay motionless in the casket.
